People often forget that the perfect gift are usually the simplest ones. A Boston Market gift card for the rotisserie chicken lover is an easy gift that they will surely appreciate.

Now a quick caveat: this is may not be the ideal gift for your spouse’s birthday or anniversary. A better use of a restaurant gift card is when you want to do something nice for that person who you don’t know too well but know enough that you like them.

The amount of the gift card doesn’t matter much as it really is the thought that counts. Boston Market makes it really easy to buy these gifts because it can all be done online via Facebook. Start at the Boston Market site (bostonmarket.com) and look for the “Gift Cards” link. They’ve made it pretty easy.

Of course, another touch would be to pick up the actual gift card at the Boston Market restaurant and put it in envelope with a thoughtfully signed card. Either way, the recipient will appreciate the thought and effort. Just make sure they’re fans of Boston Market because this restaurant is certainly not for everyone, for example a vegan!

Use the official Boston Market website (www.bostonmarket.com) to find the nearest Boston Market location. There are two ways to find the location closest to you.

1. Search by fields. Complete the search fields (address, city, state, zip) and click Search. You don’t need to complete all the fields to perform a search. For example, you can just enter your zip code.
2. Search visually. Next to the search form there is a map of the U.S. Each state that offers a Boston Market location is a clickable link. Click on a state and you will find a map with icons representing each of the restaurants in that state.

You may find the second method of finding a Boston Market location a bit cumbersome. The map is not a user-friendly Google Map where you can click and drag the map to re-position it. Instead, it looks like the map is actually a static image (provided by Bing). Accompanying the map is a list of all the locations in that state. Each restaurant in the list has its own “Detailed Map” link that will show the exact location of that Boston Market. Once again, the results are presented in a static image — not exactly the most user-friendly in this day in age when Google Maps has spoiled us easy interactive maps.

For each Boston Market location, there is a “Order Online” link that opens a new window to the Boston Market online ordering system hosted by SnapFinger. Here you can place a pick-up order for a specific location. Handy indeed. However, from a usability perspective, visitors to the Boston Market website looking to place an online order won’t be thinking “I need to find a Boston Market location to place my pick-up order.” Instead, they’ll probably be thinking “I need to place a pickup-order”. Ultimately, that means that very few people will be clicking those “Order Online” links placed in the locations finder.

Before you head out, remember to grab yourself a Boston Market coupon. There are over 500 Boston Market locations in the U.S. so hopefully there is one close to home!

Boston Market Dinner Specials

Hand-Carved Honey Glazed Ham
There’s something perfect about honey and ham. Boston Market does this classic style with corn and mashed potatoes. Ham is smoky but not overpowering comes with a nice hot cinnamon apple topping.

Country Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatoes
Although this chicken is breaded, it’s actually baked crispy as opposed to deep fried. Not quite for those on a diet though because we comes smothered in rich, creamy country gravy. Homestyle mashed potatoes rounds out this meal.

North Atlantic Baked Cod
Imagine marinating breadcrumbs with mustard, lemon and butter. Then taking the finest cut of cod filet and smearing that marinade all around. This is then baked and accompanied by new potatoes with a hint of garlic dill and fresh coleslaw.

Spicy Rotisserie Chicken
The Boston Market signature chicken is delicately marinated with a delicious blend of herbs, spices, garlic and assorted peppers. It is slow-roasted to absolute perfection until the skin is crispy. Boston Market recommends having the chicken with a simple pasta marinara and spinach.

Boston Market Individual Meals

Rotisserie Chicken
The chicken comes in various portion sizes from 1/4 to 1/2. You can also choose between white and dark meat. The chicken is delicately roasted until it’s a perfect golden brown and locking in the natural chicken juices.

Rotisserie Turkey
Some people say turkey is dry. It’s not the when done right by Boston Market! The secret is continually basting the chicken periodically to capture all the flavor. It is definitely moist and delicious.

Angus Meatloaf
If you’re a fan of mama’s meatloaf then you’ll love Boston Market meatloaf. It’s not made from low grade ground beef. This is pure Angus beef, combined with breadcrumbs, perfect seasoning, onions, tomato, and smothered in ketchup. Choose between tomato sauce or classic beef gravy.

Chicken Pot Pie
There’s nothing like a flaky chicken pot pie fresh out of the oven. Boston Market uses its signature rotisserie chicken to fill the pastry along with vegetables and a chicken sauce that’s blessed with cream. Try it, you’ll love it.

Boston Market Sandwiches

Chicken Carver
Make it a perfect lunch with Boston Market’s rotisserie chicken sandwiched between white or mult-grain bread and topped with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and dijon mustard.

Turkey Carver
It doesn’t have to be Thanksgiving to enjoy a turkey sandwich. Thickly cut rotisserie turkey topped this time with fine Swiss cheese for balance and a parmesan dill sauce that’ll have you begging for more. Tomatoes and lettuce as well.

Meatloaf Carver
Never had a meatloaf sandwich? This is two giant slabs of fresh meatloaf finished with a special hickory ketchup, cheddar cheese, greens and a slice or two of tomato. Choose between white or multi-grain bread.

George Naddaff is the man behind much of the success of restaurant chain Boston Market. Starting with meager beginnings in Boston, in 1930, Mr. Naddaff enjoyed the typical ups and downs that entrepreneurs face to become the founder of this large restaurant chain.

The original Boston Market hit home with consumers, mostly female at the time, by offering a healthier alternative to Kentucky Fried Chicken: rotisserie chicken, steamed vegetables and corn bread. There were many competitors to Boston Market, known as Boston Chicken at the time, like Chicken Outs and Chicken Expresses. But none could hold a match to the business mind of George Naddaff has he flipped the switch and went franchise.

200 sold franchises and $42 million in revenue later, the company went public — the highest IPO in Wall Street’s history at the time. Boston Chicken was a huge success. This was 1993 and George Naddaff had sold Boston Chicken a year earlier.

Before Boston Market, there was Boston Chicken. Boston Chicken was founded in Newton, Massachusetts and sold rotisserie chicken, steamed vegetables and corn bread. It was a healthy alternative at the time to another chicken joint you may have heard of, Kentucky Fried Chicken. After becoming a chain, the company enjoyed a rapid ascent to the top of the New York Stock Exchange. Boston Chicken was a hit with people all over America.

Although ownership has changed hands several times throughout Boston Market’s history, the restaurant’s core philosophy remains the same: great-tasting food you can feel good about. This is food that you can be happy serving to your children. A carefully crafted menu, a focus on nutrition and combined with fresh, quality ingredients, Boston Market offers a wholesome, delicious alternative to comparable fast-food or casual restaurants. Despite introductions of new items ham, turkey and meat loaf, the star of the menu remains the original rotisserie chicken. Marinated with just a hint of garlic to complement the natural chicken flavor profile and roasted perfectly, this delicious chicken has fed hundreds of thousands of families over many decades.
